Storm Models – #StormPhoto
Instagram fashion photography competition
Following on from Spirit’s successful #IAmStorm model search with Storm Models back in 2014, Storm were keen to explore a way of discovering the next generation of young fashion photography talent.
As a result, we developed #StormPhoto, a fashion photography competition, in partnership with Storm and Dazed Magazine.
We were offering one talented young photographer the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shoot Storm model – and Kate Moss little sister – Lottie Moss, for Dazed Digital. Our winner would also receive a portfolio review from Dazed Photographic Editor, Lauren Ford, as well as a state-of-the-art DSLR camera.
Working closely with the fashion team at Dazed, we set our creative brief, and launched the competition on Dazed Digital and across both Dazed’ and Storm’s social platforms.
The brief required entrants to share between 3-6 photos on Instagram using the #StormPhoto hashtag, whilst registering their entries on a custom built Facebook app (which aggregated entries).
At the end of the entry period, our esteemed #StormPhoto judging panel – which included photographer, Rankin, model, Lottie Moss, Storm co-Founder, Sarah Doukas and Dazed Fashion Editor, Emma Hope Allwood – selected 15 finalists.
The final part of the process was a social vote.
Dazed ran an article on their site, sharing the finalists entries along with a ‘Vote Now’ call to action, and we created a suite of supporting social content that was shared across Dazed & Storm’s social pages, encouraging social votes.
Our deserved winner, with nearly 1,700 votes, was Ryan Rivers, a brilliant young fashion photographer from Ireland.

The campaign generated a significant amount engagement across both Storm and Dazed social pages, and resulted in the following:
